our comrades in Africa

Today, thanks to PEPFAR, local, and international support, the center has 36 caregivers serving 200 people. Faith-based organizations such as World Vision, Catholic Relief Services, Expanded Church Response, and the Salvation Army are involved in a consortium known as RAPIDS (Reaching HIV/AIDS Affected People with Integrated Development and Support). These organizations help operate a community garden producing food and income for caregivers and their clients.

Moldova: Dozens protest 1940 annexation by Soviet Union under deal with Nazi Germany
Dozens gathered Thursday in front of the Russian embassy to protest the 1940 annexation of what today is the Republic of Moldova, then a part of Romania. On June 28, 1940 the Soviet Union annexed the territory following a 1939 deal with Germany _ known as the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact _ which also gave the Soviet Union parts of Poland and the three Baltic states, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia. About 40 participants, who carried Romanian flags with black ribbons tied to them, called for the reunification of Moldova with Romania, chanting "Great Romania, the only salvation." The Soviet troops were driven out of Moldova by the allied German and Romanian armies in 1941. The Soviet Union retook Moldova under the peace deal of 1945 and incorporated it into the Soviet Union. Moldova and the Baltic republics regained their independence in 1991. "The Republic of Moldova is a bankrupt state, an error of history, and its only salvation is to unite with the mother country, with Romania," said Iacob Golovca, president of the Association against the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact. "Only this way we can return to normalcy and we can join NATO and the European Union."

Ephesians 1:15-23

ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,
I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength,
which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,
which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
