news from Chris!

I'm doing great here; I just finished a really long War Room shift. I wasn't supposed to have this shift but Eddie, our youngest Battle Schooler, didn't want to do his shift so I took it for him and the girl who was supposed to replace me was an hour late.

To answer your questions, Air Force is prayer walking and Ground Force is doing whatever manual labor they can legally make us do (such as taking down wallpaper, carrying boxes, etc.).

I'm having a great time here.

Today it rained a lot and we were having Sports Day in Oppenheimer Park. So we played soccer in the rain with some new homeless friends.

Oppenheimer Park is our goal for the summer. Its nickname is "Needle Park" because of all the drug use there. Every morning they have to rake the playground for needles. Our goal is to win it for God, make it a place of God not of sin and drugs. It's our Jericho. Today was Day 3 at Oppenheimer Park and so we walked around it our third time in complete silence. We're doing the biblical thing and so on the 7th day (this Monday) we're gonna walk around seven times and then scream really, really loud. So pray for that because we're going to be destroying a spiritual fortress.

I'm loving the work here; the classes with Captain Stephen Court and all them rock. Captain Stephen Court is teaching evangelism.

JOS 6:2 Then the LORD said to Joshua, "See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. 3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. 4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams' horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. 5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have all the people give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the people will go up, every man straight in."

HEB 11:30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the people had marched around them for seven days.

How intersesting. The last sermon in our old building was Jericho. We have had so many issues with getting this old building down and starting the new building that I had the same idea. I was just saying last week we should take the corps people and march around the building 7 times! I realy feel it is a battle field and it stands in the way of our promise land!
This post was encouraging.
